Development of device for non-invasive skin diagnostics
There is considerable interest of scientists on diagnostics of morphology, physiology and chemical constitution of skin and other tissues. In presented project diagnostical device will be compiled with the possibility of in vitro non-invasive diagnostics to the depth necessary for observation of formation of tumors originating from cell division in the basale membrane of skin. In accurate locations it will be possible to determine chemical composition of tissue.
Next usage will be the observation of damadges of cartilage and potentially its healing in the joint cavity. The combination of two physical principles will be used - Optical Coherent Tomography (images of skin) and Raman Spectroscopy (chemical constitution). The research will be carried out in an interdisciplinary team composed of experts from dermatology, biochemistry, surgery and instrumentation with experience in used techniques.
